Grades are in!

School has not been an easy road for Tristan.  We found out he has dyslexia and got him help ASAP and I'm thankful.  Thankful for a Take Flight teacher, thankful for a reading tutor and thankful for his teacher that is very supportive of the exceptions Tristan needs.

I never had trouble in school and I had SUCH fear that T would start hating school because he was "different".  Thankfully given the help he received we talked it through and he knows it's ok that it's harder, his brain works differently and as I said... that IS ok!

But I'm finding that I have to constantly check myself.  I don't make excuses for him and I try not to "baby" him.  The world isn't going to feel sorry for him and he needs to learn in all aspects... that as long as he tries his best, THAT is what matters.

So while the E's matter... they aren't all that matters.  He has a great spirit, he's a great friend, he's obedient (most of the time) and he's kind.  I think he desires to be these things too - what more can I ask.

Proud of you buddy!
