It's been rough lately... just lots of bad so it's MORE than refreshing when there is good!
I walked into meet with Mrs. Pettus and the first thing she said to me was -
"I have never been so excited for a Parent/Teacher conference in all of my life!"
Well alllllll-riiighty then!
She shared all of the hi-lights...
all of the celebrating all of his tutors have done lately because they see his progress
she told me that he CHOOSES to read
he CHOOSES to do extra work on his own (see below)
AND he gets it right!!
these are HUGE victories for kids that struggle
and after reviewing the other stuff... she shared more.
More about his character, his heart, his love for the Lord.
It's all worth it. That's all I could think.
Every fight I've fought, every tear I've shed, every line I've stood in and every dollar I have sacrificed. I'm changing his future and it's worth it.
I pray I never expect perfection. I always ask him when he gets things wrong, or does something out of character... was that your best? Sometimes it was. He's having a rough day - and I'm ok with that. Some days it's no and we talk about how we can do better next time.
If only I learned the way he did. I love your heart Tristan you have no idea how smart you are and all of the wonderful ways you will bless this world.
